Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
i can consider myself a fan. i've read many books but they were in Russian and they werent that many (that is, the only ones i could buy in Israel). Right now i see the series are quite huge but from what i know one has to have a very good understanding of english to enjoy these books judging by the deep wordgames in the russian Version. i'll get back on the series soon enough myself.

Yay! lotsa fans!
Growltigger, you have them SIGNED ?!?!?!
How did you manage that?!
I get the claim to fame that my sister made him a WIZZARD hat, and we have a pic of him wearing it . . . actually I'll see if i can post a scan here. Now if only we could meet him and kiss his feet or something.
I'm just finishing up the Last books, having recently bought all of the ones i hadn't read yet.

Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
Gwaihir, Terry Pratchett was holding a signing in London for "Interesting Times" when I worked there. I went in, bought all the books, and got him to sign every one.
It was great, he stamps each books with a UU stamp (has the motto on it) and put a message in each one which was related to the book eg in "Interesting Times" he put, "to Rob (for that is my real name) live in interesting times".
He has done a couple of other signings and each time, I have got all the books and got him to sign the lot.
Forgot, my favourite is probably The Last Continent.
Dunno why but strolling around saying "No worries, she'll be right", "bonza" and "anyone fancy a meat pie floater and a couple of tinnies?" just suits me down to the ground...
Perhaps I am just a frustrated Australian (aren't they all?)
The jewel of my book collection BTW is a first edition lord of the rings signed by JRR himself.

My favorite is The Light Fantastic. I actually dropped the book twice while reading it, I was laughing so hard. While the others are wonderful, none of them (so far) have taken me there again.

Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
LOLROFLMAO, I particularily like the feather in the hat...
The first edition LOTR was got bu one of my aunts, who worked at his publishers. It is a bit of a family heirloom and has ended up with me as I am the Tolien buff in the clan.
I am curious to know what it would be worth, probably, not as much as you would think, but given that a first edition signed Harry Potter went for quite a bit of money recently, maybe I should sell and use it to fund my new kitchen!!
Any offers?

Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
you would SELL that treasure?!?!
could you wait until i can afford it?
Seriously though, it could go for a LOT. (but i wouldn't sell it if i could avoid it)
hehe, actually the thing on top o' the hat is a star, only its tilted so far you cant really see it. He shoulda worn the "ZZ" part forward, but oh well. You also can't see the stars and stuff she stitched into it in gold thread - - only the letters are in sequins.
