Okay, I figured out about the freeze. Seems we had some units with 0 cost, and the game couldn't figure out how to build 2000/0 of them.  Still not sure about the specific design names, though.

Combat can happen several different times during the turn, depending on how far the ships have moved.

oh, i ment halfway through the status bar for simultanious turn generation. had to think about what i meant myself.
