Nope, shields don't protect you against damaging warp points. Armour does, but shields don't. Damaging warp points work pretty much the same as mines except that obviously you can't sweep them. Yuo can Use "close warp point" ship.

I guess se4 Reference Disc:`Normal Damage` may be misleading, for Warp Point - Turbulence?
Value1 = Amount of damage done to objects moving through this warp point. (Normal Damage)

Re: Dangerous Warp Points
So the question nagging me still is in the unmodded game where all unstable warp points cause 200 damage, why do some ships get through without a single scratch? Typically my first ship gets through these unharmed, but others have said that if you send enough through then some more will make it out the other side unharmed. Does the Warp Point Damage - Turbulence only have an xx% chance of happening to any particular ship that goes through?
Getting through unscathed is VERY important when the ship warping into a black hole system with the warp point within 2 squares of the center. Even with armor, the damage causes the ship to stop in the black hole system and then it gets destroyed. But I've had at least one ship make it through this suicidal situation because it wasn't ever damaged. Is it a bug or a feature?

Re: Dangerous Warp Points
ISTR some damaging warp points always letting small ships thru undamaged. Can't remember any specifics but that's how I remember it...
Anyone else remeber it that way?

Re: Dangerous Warp Points
Some of your ship captains are more crafty/lucky than others
Give them medals and reassigne to your best ships.
Fingers crossed, they will do it again: SEIV is arguably the best RPG game ever !
p.s. Something is wrong with my keypad - I can not type correctly.

Re: Dangerous Warp Points
Hi guys
It is an unmodded Koth game! My first one
Oops! I said it! Now my oponent will bring a fleet of ships to finish me off and will I will be sent back to the bottom of the heap.
Wait! I am at the bottom of the heap!
I can vouch for the first ship warping through is unscathed. It would appear that more that one ship must go through the WP at the same time.
One ship going through gets damaged.
Whether the ships are fleeted or not seems to make no difference.
EDIT: One ship in a gaggle of ships does seem to get through unscathed and I "assumed" it is the first one as someone has stated.
