Perceptive and mature - as long as you stick with SEIV and don't defect to Quake XXVII.

Re: The SEIV Community
Personally I think it's the UPS background colors.
But seriously, though I have personally troubled these waters once or twice, this place does have an incredible level of civility.
Let the patting-on-the-back resume. You guys are great.

I agree although sometimes it seems so mature it makes me feel like a 2 year old. I seen things posted (only a few times ) that if directed towards me would make me totally blow my lid but they are always handled very properly. I've hardly seen anything directed at anyone. Once. But then, the King showed his true character. And that's about it.
Other threads have involved Aloofi (sp?) but that's not gaming. Thats different. And I respect people enough to know people have opinions that have nothing to do with the game and the game-playing itself.

Civility or Indifference?
Indifference as in we're all too busy with our PBW turns to care?

Civility or Indifference?
Indifference as in we're all too busy with our PBW turns to care? Not so, I think. When you play a game, you aren't indifferent. You want to win. And you may lose.
Regardless, whether you win or lose, indifference has nothing to do with how you react and post. If you post at all, you are not indifferent.

Re: The SEIV Community
Yes I do love this community hence why I keep returning, and you know whats funny I have yet to play a PBW ...the only that was stopping me was the fact that I was in the Army and unable to play and send in my turns consistently. Especially the way the world has been the Last couple of years
Anyway I hope this community will transfer over smoothly when ever Space Empires V comes around, but I am not worried about it. I know we will!

Re: The SEIV Community
Today is an unusual day for me as I seldom post this much. I am on vacation this week and have had time to catch up on a few things. I have read this forum and most of the threads contained in it going on two years now. In all of that time I have never, or at least that I can recall, seen a flame war or unprofessional post.
I recall many of forums that I have belonged to over the years and I must admit that this one, and the community at large for SE: IV, are by are the most welcoming group that I have ever encountered on line.
You all deserve a big hand.
