There are a lot of cross language confusions like that, even between British and American English.
All of us in my German I class in eighth grade were quite amused when the teacher introduced the German preposition(?) "damit". :-)

Talk about language confusion... ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!
Yeah, douche is the French word for shower. One time this american company decided to sell its products in French canada, under the name "Gros Jos" (I think). The soda sold very very well. The company investigated some, and found out that the name meant (slang)"large breasts".
