I prefer say the evening hours of 16:00 to 20:00 in the summer, when the heat is turned off and the sun slowly sets but there is still enough light outside.

night also has its charms

I like the quiet of the night too... I usually achieve it during the day by telling everyone to get the hell out and then plugging up my ears

I love it all ! Then again, I'm an old fart who can see that time DOES come to an end.

But, both have their benefits. Having said that, it IS nice at night when the kids are in bed and the time belongs to me and my wife.

I had a strong dislike for the evil daystar myself. It always seemed to me, after staying up waaay too late on Civ, CivII, AoE, SMAC or whatever that the birds were some terrible harbinger of Sol, and that the daystar itself was God's own flashlight (held like a cop, not like a helper), shining down on me in my 'wrong doing', just to make me feel busted.

These days I work 0500 - 1400 and no longer curse the daystar. I wonder if I've 'grown' in some way or if I've just adjusted to the new shift.
