It's only happening during the game? It's not the bLaster worm then I guess.

That kinda sounds like Morrowind, actually. And the reason you're rebooting is because XP is set to reboot when you BSOD. Its Microsoft's verson of a cheap PR move- "look, get XP and no more BSODs!"
Then again, 90% of the time you BSOD, you have to reboot anyway..

BINGO! That's the game. What I find strange is that Bethesda has come out with two 'Follow-up' titles but they haven taken the time to hunt down the CTD problem.Quote:

Their tech support says it's the drivers and not the game. But that is hogwash, if it were 'just' a driver problem, then why do ALL my other games work but Morrowind doesn't.

And the worst of it is that I'm not convinced that going out and buying a new sound and graphic card will fix the problem. When looking at the Posts at their forums, people with all kinds of cards and systems are having the same problem.

Oh well, I'll keep fiddling and see if I can find a work-around.

 Cheers!

Because Morrowind is the only one that does the drivers in that particular way?
It only crashes on me if I save-reload repeatedly.

The sad part is that it only crashes on me if I don't save frequently. Nothing like playing for a couple of hours without saving, then suddenly getting to look a the smiling faces of my kids that make up my wallpaper.Quote:

				 Re: OffTopic: CTD problem
Well, I found a new set of drivers (the Omega drivers) for my nVidia card. It seems to have fixed the problem. I have played through a couple of 4+ hour sessions and all seems to be well.
Strange that I had to end up with 'Unofficial' 'Unsupported' and not whql certified drivers. And they are an older Version of the drivers. I downgraded from v45.23 to 44.03 in the process.

Oh well, thanks for letting me bounce my frustrations off you.

Cheers! |
