Re: (OT) transfering non-standard amiga disks.
There was a program I used to use to read alien disk formats, "Anadisk", and there is a new Version out:
http://www.forensics-intl.com/anadisk.html
I haven't used it for many years, don't remember much about it.
It seems Sydex that made anadisk has a kernel for NT/XP to allow reading of alien disk formats:

Re: (OT) transfering non-standard amiga disks.
Read the disk into the RAM disk, then write it out using the PC0 drive to a PC formated disk. It will then work on a PC. Make sure you use a floppy with only one "Hole" if you only have a low density drive. A low density Amiga drive will write to high density disk in the wrong format. Tape up the other (high density) hole for a quick cheap conVersion.
Exe files that work on the Amiga will not work on a PC, but data text files should. Make sure the file names are correct, the PC0 will only write 8.3 file names.

Re: (OT) transfering non-standard amiga disks.
Do you have "WinUAE" loaded on a PC? This is an Amiga Simulator and should have "CrossDos" on it. Load or read the disk that way. No need for the 500 then
http://www.winuae.net
Another possibility see http://cloanto.com/kb/3-118.html
Should we talk to MM to get an SEIV Amiga port. That would be Awesome! I could have twice as many people playing SEIV

Re: (OT) transfering non-standard amiga disks.
yep, i'm using winuae. did a search in the dir and didn't find any crossdos, though.
did a bunch of stuff today, so no time for emulation.

Re: (OT) transfering non-standard amiga disks.
I'm pretty sure you won't get any PC (even one emulating an amiga) to read or write an amiga-formatted floppy. The floppy drives are different.
There was a cool bit of software I used to use from aminet, I can;t remember what it's called, but you used to be able to plug a PC and an amiga together using serial/parallel, and then all the PC's drives became available to the amiga as local drives. Maybe a similar trick could be done in reverse, so that the PC can "remote control" the Amiga's drives.
