Re: Attention my PBW games...
My ISP is going up and down the past couple days so internet access is limited. So I may be close to deadline on most of my turns for awhile.

It seems this isn't just an intermittent problem; something about the game is causing the PBW server to "time out." Perhaps the game is just too big for it to handle? In any case, we can't ask Geo to keep restarting the game for us every turn. So, I think we should call a winner and end the game.

Rags could do the processing manually each turn.

Re: Attention my PBW games...
Fyron is right, I could run the turns. But look in the game forum. It has some information on the problem.

He could run the turns, but he'd have to also email them. They are too big to upload to PBW as replacment turns.

Re: Attention my PBW games...
Oh. Well... you could get some hosting space to use to upload the turn files to and email out links when new turns are ready (I might be convinced to give you some on SE.net ). Using a better compression algorithm than ZIP (such as RAR, ACE, etc.) would save lots of space and time downloading from there. Or just use Zip if you really want to. That, or end the game.

No it doesn't. I run 700MHz Thunderbird and 392 MB RAM and I have no problems. Ships Window open in 3 sec, Empire takes 5 sec and so on. And I have around 5000+ entries in Ships window. Actually I have to wait a minute or two only when cloacking fleets of 100+ ships. There could be done some serious code optimization.
And although it takes 2 to 3 hours to make my turns, I would hate to lend game now when it is going interesting. I want to see if game can handle my 1000+ ship fleet battle against another player of same size of fleet. I think that kind of combats are about to occur in time.
