Re: Should I microwave my SEIV disk?

No, you are the one that is incorrect here. Drones were listed as something that was a planned feature. Nobody in any position of authority ever said, "Buy Se4 and we promise we will add drones and you won't have to pay extra for them." Every game has some features that get changed or dropped alltogether between planning and implementation for one reason or another.Quote:

That, and they still do not work very well. |
If anyone has some particular feature that they think a game would be incomplete without they should wait until that feature is added before they buy the game, or find a different game. That's just common sense really.

Planned features, promised features, same difference. I never implied that MM ever went out and explicitly stated any of that. |

Think of Gold as an expansion pack. I did, and I am damned glad I bought both Version of the game. Hell I buy expansion packs all the time. AOE, AOE II, Sim City 3 Unlimited, etc.Quote:

If you are Canadian you already spent $70 on that cd. Then an additional $60-$65 for the Gold. In total you have spent $130-$135 for a game. Well if you are American you can do the math and get about $100 or so. Is that not just a little high for a strat game? Is every penny REALLY worth it?

 *braces for the bLast*

 And that's just my opinion.

I was happy to have SEIV for a year before Gold was released, and more than happy to buy Gold. I love the game, and if I were a beta tester I still would have bought Gold just to support the developer.

Opinions are always good, and even though I do not agree with yours, I respect it.

Unless it is scratched all the way to the actual material at the center of the pLastic, it is recoverable. You can get repair kits resonably cheaply.Quote:

A clasic ruined. | It is hosed beyond repair, but thanks for suggesting this option. To be honest, I was heart sick over finding the CD in the condition it was in. It was like finding out that a beloved pet had passed away. But hey, its pLastic and pLastic things look cool when nuked. *Disclaimer - I am kidding, do not nuke disks, bad bad bad.*

So obviously if you had just discovered it after however long it was no big deal, because you had the Gold. You didn't even miss it, did you. So what if it's baked now? You already paid for it again so it doesn't matter.Quote:

He already said that it is damaged beyond hope, so selling it on Ebay wouldn't be a good idea.

Write offs only mean you don't pay the taxes...The people making the CDs would still get paid in full by AOL.
