actually, in the mythology of the lotr, gandalph's an angel of a false god, so what you have is the corrupting influence of heathens.

Since Gandalph and the god are both fictitious, calling them 'true' or 'false' becomes completely irrelevant. (am I starting to sound like Fyron ?)
