I think you may be confusing dark energy with dark matter. Yes, they estimate that 99.5% of all the energy and matter in the universe is made up of dark energy and dark matter. About that triangle problem;
Are the sides curving around the surface of the sphere? If that is the case, it is no longer a triangle.
