Umm... yeah... or I just point them to the Everchanging Book of Names program and save myself the work.  Random name generation is rather complicated.

se5a, I could not get that generator to work... perhaps it just hates non-IE browsers... will have to check with IE in the morning.

My favorite website for generating wierd sounding alien names:
http://www.abooks.com/alien/
It generates names randomly, but they follow specific rules regarding combinations of vowels consonants and syllables. The results are random enough to be totally alien, but still are pronouncable words.
Hit refresh to generate new words.

Yeah, my race is called the Yophepo Mephi Vuwoxagh and my ships are named: Xiy Rezuzh 001, Xer MiWaxizh 057, and Vuxuloth 285.
