Martin Freeman will make a good arthur dent, he's extremely drool and he has that very ordinary, very english look and manner to him. Might be a little young, mind, although I don't recall the books ever specifying how old AD actually is.
The question is, how far into the story will they go? Is this going to be another 3-film 11 hour epic like LOTR?

I'd certainly love to see this movie.
It has been a couple of years since I read it Last but I'm sure that they do say his age. Isn't he suspose to be getting a little bit gray and baldish?

Yes, when I was in school, there were a number of graduate students who were in their 20's who looked like they were twice their actual age. I think the stress of working full time during the day and also working on their masters' degrees in the evening wore them out. Those guys were always so tired-looking...
