The webspace is provided by my Internet Service Provider. There aren't any costs apart from what I already pay for my DSL connection. I get 20 MB of webspace. Not much, but enough to upload some data files, pictures, and other stuff I want to share

A quick google search 'free webspace' yielded good results. There are tons of services that will give you webspace. Make sure you get one that allows ftp upload and get a ftp client software.
Most of them have ads, but what the heck. You don't wanna make a website afterall. Just have a few folders on the net, to upload stuff and link to.

I am sure others will have better advice on this topic than me.

Well it's enough for me. Maybe in the near future I'll get me one of those websites. Yeah, would come in handy now and then... yes...
