I've been trying to figure out my body count from almost 20 years of strategy games. It surely took a big jump since I started playing MOO2 and SEIV. Glassing planets is just so easy. I'd say a few hundreds of billions. A Trillion maybe?
I actually found a body count number from a few years of Star Fleet Battles. It was up over 400,000 .

Provided you do not indulge in planning such a thing, I would reckon you will be fine, as you merely killed, what, a few billion aliens? Such accidents happen all the time, and it would be hypocritical to consider you were actually responsible for the wicked twists of fate.
(The fact that I am myself likely to be charged for such a crime has nothing to do with my eagerness to defend an estimated colleague... erh, I mean, Raging Deadstar. I am speaking the truth, and not defending my own interest and above all, my own hide.)
