Re: OT - Gandalf Parker, Who are you?
Is that your real name?
Its a real middle name. It used to be a lot more uncommon. Now alot of places wont let me use it. Always taken or I get the response of "only real names here". I often have to show my government ID card to prove it.
Have any Hobbies?
Computers, games, pets, games, wildlife management, games, music, games.
If you play Se4 how long have you played?
Not long. I played the demo abit and then received the full Version as a group of games from Shrapnel. Dominions is what I was in that brought me here altho I probably would have tried SEIV eventually since it has a lot of features I like in a game.
Do you like your toliet paper over the top of the roll or under the bottom?
Over the top altho there are extenuating circumstances for doing it that way at my house (a handicapped child)
What is your favorite breakfast food?
Probably pastrys. Generally my favorite foods are meat but you had to go and ask about breakfast which is where I indulge in pastry.
If you could make one wish what would it be?
Hmmmm I think I need to take the 5th on that.
Yes, or No?
True
Married?
Yes
Where do you live(you don't have to be specific)?
Vacaville California. Suburbia between Sacramento and San Francisco.
Mostly to be near Travis Air Force Base and the David Grant Medical Center. Im Air Force retired (non-officer) and being near gives me access to my benefits.
Childern?
2 boys. Well not boys. 25 and 27. both live with us. Plus a brother-in-law and he is 26. We all game computer, console, and tabletop including my wife. We have lots of consoles and a full network here (4 windows machines with individual IPs, and a Debian Linux server). My son has said he cant move out because now he has to not only come up with first-month, Last-month, security deposit but he also cant consider leaving without coming up with DSL install.
Pets?
Usually many and varied but at the moment they are all domestic. Dogs and Cats.
What is the meaning of life?
Bigger Better toys (42 of them)
[b]What is you specialist subject?[/]
Hmmmm Ive always tried to be jack-of-all-trades. More general than specialist. My resume is full of interesting jobs that had nothing to do with each other. I guess one I ended up with that I didnt want would be system administrator for ISPs. I dont rely on ISPs now, I just do my own services.

EDIT: As for your name i can understand the problems there with people not believing you. I get it with my birthday, I was born on September 11th so many people won't accept that it is and give me a good lecture on making fun of a terrible day or i get shifty eyed looks, quite weird as there must be thousands of people born on that day...
|
I've never quite gotten that sort of response myself...

I've never quite gotten that sort of response myself... Really? i find that quite strange considering you live in the country it happened in. Then again i live in the north of england and it really is a closed minded area, anything to judge you by or grab the soap box if you know what i mean....Kind of Like Politicians .
We now return you to CW's intended scheduling of this thread before it is hijacked
