The Ship Report (hotkey F6) has an Orders button. This lists all your ships and their current orders; when a ship has completed its orders, it shows a blank line. Clicking on a ship sends you to it, so you can give it new orders.

I found it wierd at first too, but now, I like it a lot more than the "normal" way.
As long as you're not 10 Posts behind in your reading, you don't ever have to flip pages

I'm thinking that the ultimate way to set up the board would be to use the reverse-pages like here, but have the most recent Posts at the bottom of each page. That way, you don't have to flip pages, and you can read straight through the thread, without having to read downwards, then go back up to get the next post.
