Mission difficulties/possible bug

Well, I made a few special modifications to the demo on my computer, and once I did that I made it through all right. (I reduced the cost of a Mark III Cruiser down to 1 and raise the tonnage to 7000 ) To make a long story short, I went to the system, didn't even bother finding the freighter, then went a-huntin' for the pirates. I blew three of them away from one particular clan, and that won the mission for me. (only because the time ran out and the freighter was still safe.)

PS: They still give you 3 mercenary missions to do whether you fail the escort mission or not. Only the message your Freeport Contact gives you changes.
