Note: Recuperation does not heal these wounds. I put a heart in Man's regenerating recuperating green knight, and he had a chest wound 30 turns later.

I had a moment of shock whith that. I had two generals with magic eyes, one of them died and the second replaced his only eye with a magic one. Since then I am always giving my shooters/mages a second misc. item to prevent that. ) |

Was he still wearing the heart? If so, good: you shouldn't be able to recuperate your missing eye while the magical one is still in there (let alone the Nuadu Airgetlahm if it is ever added; chest wounds for hearts are a bit more of a grey area but I don't mind.)
If you remove the heart and still can't heal the chest wound, that sounds like a bug.

They are cursed... you cannot remove them. Eye loss should not regenerate, but chest wound certainly should.
