my pretender -- vanished!?!?

No, like I said, I pressed "n", I cant "call God", he DIDNT DIE (still alive in the Hall of Fame), and ALL of the surrounding provinces were friendly.
The computer apparently thought I wanted to attack, it didnt say "XX was discovered", but rather "we failed to conquer the independent province".
He's dissapeared, not dead. What the hell?

Just a thought: make a backup of the game folder, then go back in the game and host the turn. Can you call your god on the subsequent turn? Maybe the game didn't register it as he only just died? I think something like that happens with the prophet as well, but I forget whther it's the same with pretenders.

Okay, that happened to me a LONG time ago and i came here for answers. I had already started another game but the one in question i had spent 13-16 hours on and POOF, my God vanished. Maybe it is a bug then, it hasn't happened again so far luckily. I had 3/4 of the map with temples and priests and POOF...i was new to the game so i restarted and had no save file .Oh, he wasn't dead either !
