You are not only judging me, but you are looking at the situation totally opposite of how I am looking at it, though it is ok to have a different viewpoint.Quote:

I have realized through my experience of Dominions 2 that a change of 1 magic resistance through the magic scales might as well be 0. It hardly has any effect on the game.

Also, my disintegration strategy can no longer be called that. I've improved the way I play so greatly that disintegration has become flavoring on the cake.

If only the rest of us had the same single-minded determination to play the same nation in every game....
Only teasing.
Damn, these forums need some better smilies. I can't express my tounge-in-cheek joviality with any degree of accuracy whatsoever. |

Re: Magic Scale is too weak. Why?
 Mr. Argitoth,
 >I use +3 magic scale for my strategy and -3 >magic resistance would be extremely beneficial >to me

I am not judging you. I am using the above statement that you made in this thread to express my opinion on the matter, which is to say, "Asking that game balance to be changed to suit your own strategy is rather poor, IMO."

I note that you did not say, "would be extremely beneficial to magic-rich nations", "people who like to play with a lot of magic", or anything else. You explicitly made it a personal matter with 'your strategy' and 'to me'. This is in very poor taste to me, and that is all I said.

I also made no mention of your oft-mentioned, oft-vaunted, and oft-derided so-called 'disintegration strategy'. If your comments in response to my post regarding this were meant to apply to me, you were in error. I was addressing your own words of 'my strategy', and I really did not care much what strategy it was.

Perhaps this is true ... for the way in which you choose to play the game, and the strategies you devise. But this is most certainly not the only way to play Dom, nor even close to a good way.Quote:

What you do not seem to give sufficient credit for is not only Bayushi's on-target assessment that the magic scales are balanced as they are and to change them would throw many things out of kilter, but that magic scales vis a vis MR is not intended to be significant.

You don't use a hammer to drive in a screw. Not if you understand the proper use of tools. MR is a tool. It is my belief that you haven't discovered the proper 'tools' to use in order to adjust MR to achieve a desired result. It's a failure of understanding the underlying game mechanics.

You need to do some more homework. Given your published age, I doubt the word "homework" is something you like to hear.

Sorry, how is this relevant? I don't get it. Everyone on these Boards is normally so polite, but that was clearly below the belt.Quote:

I've seen quite a bit of "below the belt" comments such as these made by various people on these Dominions Boards... it is disheartening to see people acting like this, and the Moderators don't even seem to care. |
