Anyone know what "bad vcr header" means?

Didnt find anything in a search, so I'll ask here: I got this message when trying to view a battle (some commander got attacked by a horror), and I got this little popup window with "Bad vcr header", and when I click "ok" the game ends. Anyone know what that could be and how I can fix it?

Usually this is caused by some error in the game. Like too many units or something similiar. It does happen not-so-rarely on horror attacks either initiated by spell or by wearing/carrying items.

Usually, if you reload the game and don't try to watch the battle, you can keep playing just fine...

Usually if you reload the game and try to watch the battle, there will be no error.
