Re: Ry\'leh Resources
I believe it's a design choice. Most landlubbers aren't amphibians and can't send their trade goods 1000 feet deep.

Re: Ry\'leh Resources
I test it once and it didn't work in either direction, i.e., a sea fortress can't get resource from land and vise versa.
That's new, right? Or is it a bug?

Re: Ry\'leh Resources
It's 'always' (since Dom 1) been that way.

That is correct (sea fortresses cannot collect from land and vice-versa). I do not believe it is a bug, especially since Patrik confirms it has been like this in Dom1.

Re: Ry\'leh Resources
Good to know it's always been like this. I was expecting to be able to make a lot of meteorite guards once I conquered the adjacent high-resource provinces and was disappointed that I couldn't do this. Of course, that's after playing lots of Ulm. And of course trying to play Ry'leh as if it were Ulm is a self-defeating proposition. I've concluded...like some other folks...that resources aren't all that important to ry'leh.
I'm enjoying the feel of Ry'leh. It's very cool.
I guess I was assuming that the landlubbers left their resources in little packets by the seashore and my atlantian slaves went above the waves and picked them up in proportion to my "administration." Heh. It's fine that it doesn't work that way, though. Otherwise Ry'leh might be too powerful.

Re: Ry\'leh Resources
Hoping I may ask this question here:
But a sea fortress *does* benefit in taxes from neighboring friendly land provinces and vice versa, right? (Hard to test due to unrest factors etc., but it seems that way)

Land forts definitely can harvest resources from sea provinces: It worked for me, because I had a sea province that instantly went to 0 resources when I built a pair of fortified cities surrounding it. I think it works that way for sea provinces at land provinces also, but most sea forts have crappy admin.
Also, WHY DOES EVERYONE SPELL "R'lyeh" WRONG? Where exactly did this "Ry'leh" business come from, anyway? It's clearly spelled "R'lyeh" in the game, as it's supposed to be.
