Why isn't my avatar updating?

So use a 2-color GIF. Rather efficient.

but the issue here is still why my avatar's link isn't staying when I update.

Can anyone tell me how they did their avatar?

I entered the URL, and *poof* there it was.

Most likely your provider does not allow remote-linking.

Or a parental control on his PC that he doesn't know about. Or a firewall issue.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can use BMPs as image files. Generally it's JPG or GIF. It may very well simply be rejecting your extension.

That's another good point. BMP is not an accepted Web format. Only JPG/PNG/GIF are.
