Yeah I figured this out from what actually happens. It would be clearer to say you only pay half what you bid then use the bid thing as is.

The game simply fails to adjust the default value to account for the doubling effect.

This way your fingers might not hurt too much from clicking bid values down.

Illwinter need to make a serious interface makeover. I am already addicted to this wonderful game, but I have mixed feelings for the interface. :-)

You can simply use arrow keys to do it in a fast and painless way. It is stated in the manual and in the game tips.
