Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
*TerranC repeatedly jumps up and down in order to express his profound happiness at seeing the old order come back, until he hits the ceiling of his room*

Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
A neat feature that people might not have found yet is the new search feature. You can select the forum or even multiple forums (shift-click and ctrl-click work for selecting Groups), ask it to show you all of the Posts for the Last day and click the box saying you want to see a bit of the post. You can also include some words from the subject or body to just see certain threads. It makes it much easier to figure out what you want to reply to in a long thread or a particularly active day.

Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
One thing that just bit me:
Right after posting a reply, the displayed page should be the one where your reply ended up.
Multi-posting increasingly panicky Versions of the same message over and over is not a good thing.
(But at least I was able to delete them and hide the evidence of my troubles )
-----
We could also use a "reply to original post" button somewhere at the top and bottom of the the page, like we had before.

Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
When clicking the thread names, it is jumping me to the old pages instead of the new ones with newest on top.
Is anybody else seeing this?

Another bug when using reverse order mode:
If a thread has 2 pages of Posts, and there is one new post, viewing page 1, which has that new post, does not update the new post indicator. If I view page 2, which would have had the new post in the oldest to newest order, it updates the new post indicator, even though that page doesn't actually have the new post.

Yes, I am seeing it.

I am quite unhappy with the new board.
Using the port 81 forbid me to access it in the daytime.

Actually, that has increased my productivity at work nowadays almost exponentially (I can;t access it either from work during the day)

Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
At work I get a:
Proxy Access Denied
Access to this site has been denied. The website you are attempting to access operates on a non-standard network port.
Internet standards reserve specific network ports for specific network services. The site you attempted to access violates these standards, (e.g. https site run on port that is not 443, http site run on port less than 1024 that is not 80) .
Also the new format is a pain. Other sites list the Last pages, even the END page, in the go-to bar.
I know my useage is down. I bet all of the traffic is down.

Re: Changes to Boards - please read as we go along
Trying not to be rude, but the board is really starting to annoy me.
Cant get access, random denials, error Messages saying there is no data, incompatability with firefox....
What was good about the old board was that it was easy to use and worked....

That's odd. I haven't had any trouble with the new forum. I'm using Firefox exclusively, and have set the font to "Shrapnel Large" in display preferences and it's just about the same for me.
