 Well, if you're going for complete world vaporization, chemical munitions probably won't cut it.  Biological weapons won't cause physical destruction, and there could possibly be survivors.  Few, but some perhaps.

Ah, but could you coordinate their detonation in the case of an invasion?  You'd need something along the lines of the Dooms-Day Machine from "Dr. Stangelove".

A few fusion bombs per facility would do the trick.. build them into the facility, then when invasion appears likely to succeed, set them off... no need for them to go off at the same time, just as long as they get triggered in time.
