Re: PBEM brainstorming: King of the Hill
The Last Pretender file went in yesterday, and the game should be starting anytime soon.
And so it begins. The first turn has just been sent.

Re: PBEM brainstorming: King of the Hill
Is the mapfile needed by the players at all, or is it just for our enlightenment?
I want to make sure I am using the correct map (I now have at least 3 of these maps floating around). It seems the turn file and the map tga is all that is needed however. So I assume only the host uses the actual .map file, and it was attached only for our information. Is this correct?

Re: PBEM brainstorming: King of the Hill
On closer inspection, I think you are correct Rainbow. I could open the game without using the map file, so I gather it is only used when creating the map.
The Last one I sent via email should override the other two, and would be unnecessary for actual play, or so it seems (I guess the game keeps the needed information in the nation files).

Hey can we speed this up? 48 hour is rather ludicrous when the turns take 2 minutes to play...

Re: PBEM brainstorming: King of the Hill
I think the main reason for the current slowness was the holiday weekend (and my reunion with GF for the first 5 days in 11 months). If everyone is back and ready, the turns should go at least once a day even on 48QH, although a steady 24 non-QH would also be good.

Here it goes; we have switched to a 24 hours deadline. (The problem mentioned before was a mail lost, which should not occur again) |
