Sure they do! They are graciously permitted to keep all Minerals, Radioactives, and Organics they can harvest from the universe MB creates for them. A much better deal than Football players get - they get only a small fraction of the revenue from their efforts.

Absolutely not. They get thrown into the same universe for a time and MB records what happens. They don't have to fight at all. The only thing stopping them from living in peacful harmony for the duration is their own tendancies. Not all AI's go to war.
