my humble opinion is that the ones on the left have a tad too much glare (reflection) and it gives the models a bit of a pLastic feel. The ones on the right have no glare (reflection) and for some reason make me think of a rubber type texture. So, I'd say the model needs the glare (reflection) but perhaps not as strong as the current left samples.
Aside from that, these ships look great.

My first impression was the left ones, however they are a tad too shiny. The right ones are more like natural light in space. Will there be Gamillon and Comet empire?. Will SE5 have reflex guns? |

I would have to agree with David, though I will add that parts of the ships on the right look hidden in the shadows.

The angle is differant that is all. The ships are the same. I just wanted to know what they would look like if they were rendered differantly. They looked differant enough that I need outside input.
