Hello, and no spanish translation?

Hello!!! My first post. Im starting to play SEIV. [img]/threads/images/graemlins/Smile.gif[/img] So no multiplayer yet!!! [img]/threads/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I see i have MUCH to read a learn. And... what about a translation? Can be possible using mods? Tutorial can be done, but what about the rest?

Unfortunately, much of the text in the game is hardcoded, and cannot be changed via mods. You could always try to change it by hacking the executable with a hex editor, but that would render your game useless in multiplayer... [img]/threads/images/graemlins/Sad.gif[/img]

On the bright side, if I'm not mistaken, Malfador is planning to have a "Labels.txt" file in Space Empires 5 (due to be released later this year if all goes well) which will let you customize all the text in the game - which means you could do more than just language translations; you could even rename the resources to "ironium/boranium/germanium" or create a fantasy RPG mod where ships are called "characters" [img]/threads/images/graemlins/Eek.gif[/img]

As far as I've seen, there aren't any hardcoded resource names, just the text colours associated with them.

You can edit the resource icons, and the references to "minerals" are all in the components, facilities and ability descriptions.

There is a spanish translation mod. We've got it setup as a version for play on PBW. I don't know where you get the player version though. I think Adres Lescano had something to do with it, if he didn't make the entire mod. Is teh Kuat Drive yards still around? That was his site. Maybe he has the mod posted there.
