Yes, let's resurect the great "Soda vs Pop vs Cola" debate.

I, living in Ohio call it pop as well. I have friends from various parts of the country who call it one or the other. After much research I have placed the dividing line, running roughly in a north-south direction, somewhere slightly west of Indianapolis Indiana.

Anybody care to chime in so we can narrow it down more specifically.

Geo

Pop, not soda! NOT SODA DAM... never mind.

I lived in Iowa for four years, and for those four years I had to deal with, "Pop? what the hell is pop? Anybody wan't some Sooodaaaa, ya stupid redneck."

Pop, not soda, pop.

Around here, in South Carolina, no matter what kind of soda it is, it's a Coke. (SC's state motto: "Hey, at least we're not dead Last in education!")

Yes, soda. Pop is what you do to a balloon. Or listen to on the radio. Or call your father.

Next time on Mindless Rant: "Sub, Hoagie, or Grinder: the Sandwich Wars."

I went to school at IUP in Western PA - Pittsburghers call it soda, Phillies call it pop... I'm from Rochester NY and usually say soda.

To all you Pittsburghers: Are yins gonna warsh ya cah today with wad'r, or drink soda and watch a tape of the Stillers?

I grew up in Berks County, Pennsylvania, roughly 50 miles NW of Philadelphia. I drank soda when I lived there, and pop when I moved here to Pittsburgh. Back then I ate "Italian sandwiches" and "steak sandwiches", which are subs and Philly cheesesteaks here.

justjake: nah, I've got an appointment in 'Sliberty today; have to take a bus dahntahn to get there.

Hadrian: I highly recommend getting an uninterruptable power supply/surge protector.
APC has an Online questionnaire for figuring out what capacity you need. IIRC, their URL is
www.apcc.com

My UPS keeps me Online through several power flickers a month, and gives time to shut down properly during longer outages.
