In a more precise analysis:
When an airplane is doing a blind airstrike then if it follows a diagonal route it will travel 40% more time inside the enemy control zone, which means an increase of 40% in its ability to spot a valid target.

That's what I plotted, ingress from the NW from the enemy side and egress NE. 3 km off target is still rather silly IMO.

Attach a save if you have one. I have NEVER seen an airstrike go that radically wrong for no reason.

COIN strikes going extremely way off target should already be fixed in the patch. I cannot recall if there was a special bullet for it or not, but I recall doing some work on planes going off far too far on rare occasions.
(if Don cannot get the same behaivoiur with the save game, then it is sorted)
