White as a Race Color

I'm playing using the beautiful Federal Union shipset, but I've noticed one problem. Their race color is white, which makes it impossible for me to see which systems I have ships or colonies in on the sector display.

Has this ever been mentioned before? Also, is there a way I can change my color to something else easily?

Of course, I spoke before actually looking. I changed the color to a more visable one, but the point remains that any white/light grey color is going to be very difficult see.

As the author of that race style, I must say I did that purpose. The Federal Union AI is a strong one (most days), but the added level of deception of not being able to see it's controlled systems gives it a slight edge to human players.

I've never seen an AI win a war using nothing but meson beams on DN's with no shilds an armor.......

you can change the color if you go into the pics folder and alter the race_main.bmp just open it in paint or whatever and change it to whatever color u want

I like the black now. At first I would over look ships in the sector. Then I thought . Hey if I am over looking ships then........... And bingo. Black is the shade of choice for me.

Don't try that in PBW. If you try that, all the other players have to do is go in and change the race color on their machines. Moreover, it's cheesy :P

I agree, very cheese. This ranks right down there with using a non-default shipset to intentionally confuse your opponents.
