I've just recently discovered Vegastrike, which takes a little bit of learning but is basically everything Elite II: Frontier should have been. Free, too. |

Meh... I downloaded StarWraith Shadows of Orion and couldn't even get it to work with my Wingman Force joystick. Got frustrated, gave up and went back to Freespace II.

Probably because it's a one-man job using a second-rate compiler.
But for the money, it's worth it.
