Re: Long campaign
So... The long campaign is here only to play a few years... When why allow upgrading units to newly released models?
In WWII, we can have a fun long campaign with Germany for instance, playing the whole war on several theaters.
I'd like to do the same with MBT, start in Korea, then move to Vietnam, then anywhere else, but keep the same core troops. Of course it's not the same generation, but it could be the same training, standards, etc.
And by the way, when you take loss and repair the unit, you do get new generation.
I'm surprised to see that apparently I'm the only one to try that. Was it so unexpected to play such kind of campaign?

Re: Long campaign
I dont understand why. You can play Korea campaign, then vietnam etc... Just imagine, after 10 battles you will have crew with exp over 100, so after 75 battles it would be ... totally unreal. By the way, you always can buy same composition of troops and manually set exp and names for units...

Re: Long campaign
The point here is to avoid redoing the same composition of troops every time, or manually set things.
Hence my suggestion to "import" an existing core troops to continue with another campaign.
But as I'm the only one interested by this, I'll stop complaining...

Re: Long campaign
No, Steph, you're not the only one to play Looooong Campaigns.
I usually start in 1955 or so, and carry on until 2005 - mind you, I only managed 1985 and then WinSPMBT came along....

Re: Long campaign
And when you play such campaigns, what kind of opponent settings would you like?

Re: Long campaign
As I've been playing since SP1 back in '97, I'm used to the 3-Enemy restriction, I suppose.
Not that I'd object to any changes, mind ;-))
