Re: New info on SE:V at Malfador
Those text files are certainly interesting reading. I'm a bit gutted that se5 has so few default ships per set though - it doesn't even have vanilla se4's 20, let alone the 40 of neostandard or 50+ that you see in some other sets. Will we be able to mod larger shipsets? Should we be working out the se5 neostandard now? |

Refer to this article . There are a number of vehicles (all units, freighters, carriers, etc) that have calls for alternate images (small/med/large sizes, typically), but most sets do not include them by default.

I think part of the reason why there are fewer models is that ships now have levels, so you don't really need as many distinct hull models. |

Re: New info on SE:V at Malfador
What is the CSF file that we should compile them into? I thought maybe "Comma Separated File", but that is not right. It kind of looks like a "C" file, but with no semicolons. "C Source File"???

Of course leading to the question... How do you compile it? Hope the directions are included. If I have to ask here, my post count will go out of sight

Re: New info on SE:V at Malfador
There is a Script Parser included that is used to compile the AI scripts. For a typical AI, there is only a Setup and Main script to tweak and compile. You just open the file you want to compile and hit, guess now, "Compile". |

 | Fewer Models is not a good thing IMHO...other than having to make the shipsets of course then more models do suck... |

It is easy to propose the SE5 neostandard be "stock SE4" vehicle names. And then add on the SE4 neostandard names if you want even more.

Stock SE4 only has 3 vehicles that SE5 does not: escort, battlecruiser, and battlestation. SE5 in fact calls for many more models overall than stock SE4. |
