Re: Three straightforward GUI mods
Ok here's my last two completed tonite. That's my lot for now, but I'll probably tinker around some more when the game arrives.
Bloodred:
Green:
They look great at 1280*1024, but on my monitor the font quality deteriorates at lesser resolutions (as does the font on the default game GUI), so 1280*1024 is recommended, although they work at all resolutions.
PDF I'm zipping and emailing these to you in the next 24hrs.

Re: Three (now twelve?!!) straightforward GUI mods
You are welcome, I'm using the bamboo right now as TC. Although I haven't used the Ash in game yet, from my testing I noticed that the unit graphics look great on that dull grey background.

Re: GUI Mod package available for download here.
Well I was playing around with early Arco today and couldn't resist a new light blue marble mod for them.
While I was there I tweaked the purple mod too.
Also the heat mod has been tweaked to make reading the yellow game font easier.
They are available in version 1.1 of the GUI Mod package which I uploaded into the earlier post today.

Re: GUI Mod package available for download here.
Ok I fooled around some more and as I was never entirely happy with that Heat version I trashed it and split it into Desert and Lava.
I also created a Lime Green variety in case any Ctis players would need it.
They are now uploaded into v1.2 in the previous post.
Nerfix - I hear you. I had a go at it last nite but my photo program really doesn't like trying to change the default marble into black and purple. I gave up in frustration, perhaps I can figure it later.
I'm also stymied with a green/brown mod for Pangea at the moment. In fact this will be the last update for a while, but I bet I'll return to them again quite soon...

Re: GUI Mod package available for download here.
I would love green and brown for Pangaea. But Id allow for a more golden brown as a lighter brown for backgrounds. Light green looks too C'tiish. That way the darker brown can be trim. A nice green vines background screen would be great
Yes I know Im hoplessly Pangaea addicted.
Oh keep in mind that Oceania would be Pangaea with blue instead of brown, and seaweed for a backdrop?

Re: GUI Mod package available for download here.
I figured I'd try my hand at this as well. It is Saturday, after all.

Re: GUI Mod package available for download here.
Hmmmm if someone decides to macrograb the entire sprite set from Dom3, what color option would make the best sprites? white? black? magenta?
