Hard to make out what's supposed to be happening apart from a large ship appearing, there being firing and ships all over the place.

There are two big fleets clashing...
Lots of small ships and lots of fighters too.
In one of the middle frames, you can see where a fighter zigged when he should have zagged.

Do you mean in the DreadnoughtPOV one?
I just zoomed in really carefully. The camera angle is still the same, but I managed to find one where the camera intersected a ship and there were still more ships visible on the far side.
