It definetly does. My theurgs can cast smite as long as there are two communicants on the battlefield.

Another test; Ring of Wizardry doesn't increase priest level either. I guess that is a change from Dom2 as it did increase priest levels there.

BTW. Ring of Wizardry now costs 65 astral gems and requires level 6 in astral to be forged.

Instead of making your theurgs smite, get a large number of communicants and cast holy avenger+have a lucky arch theurg cast phoenix pyre, nearly immortal suicide bombers ftw! . Ring of wizardry not increasing holy is annoying but anyone who can forge it can probably make a communion.

I don't know why I'd want to kill all my commanders off in a single battle from fatigue.

Crystal Shield does not seem to increase Holy level anymore in battles. Somebody please post if they can confirm this.
