What flags would you like to see most in SEV?

I think these all need race portrates in them too...
I keep getting errors when I go into the combat simulator and I'm guessing it's because there's no race portrates in these folders.

If that is true, then being able to pick you portrait, your shipset, and your flag seperately in empire creation is not going to work...

I've confirmed it.

What's happening is that the simulator grabs random race portrates for the populations for cargo. since these folders don't have race portrates it throws up errors.

You can pick portraits shipsets and flags seperatly.

Maybe a filler portrait...Or I guess ship/flag sets will have to be race related...

Speaking of which is it the flags or the shipsets that provide the portrait?

what do you mean? the flags, ships, and race portrates all go in the same empire folder.

I'm just rambling...I have no idea where they go...

After further review this is what I've gleamed...

There are two places that have flags. There is a Picture/Flags Folder with 15 race flags, and 12 Alliance Flags. There is the Empires folder with 14 Stock Empires with 14 flags and 14 portraits, 10 Neutrals with 10 flags and 10 portraits, and 1 default with no flag or portrait.

This leaves us with a total of 51 stock flags, and 24 portraits between two different areas. I would assume that any extra flags would go into the Pictures/Flags folder. These are with out any connection to a empire folder or portrait. These means that there is something wrong in the simulator code somewhere. Which of course you have already pointed out, yet I dont think it has to do with the fact that there are flags without portraits, just in how the simulator finds the flags, and portraits.

Someone needs to tell Aaron that we'd like to see the "pictures/flags" directory actually gain some functionality, e.g. we can dump stuff into them and see them show up.

I've tried renaming stuff

"Race16_Flag_Set.bmp" in the hopes that it would be recognized by the game, but no go

AHA! I fixed it!

Apparently the

GameTypes\Shep's SE5\Pictures\Flags

thing does NOT work

You have to put stuff into

SE Compilation\SE5\Pictures\Flags

for it to work.

How about some of the revolutionary war flags- Don't Tread on me, Gadsden flag etc.
