Ive got a script on mine which compares the .trn files with the .2h files. There will always be a fresh .trn file due to timed hosting but if its more than 5 days newer than the latest .2h Ive received then I consider it dead.
Actually I dont use it so much for dead players as I do to look for dead games. With so many games running on my servers I had trouble keeping watch, and so many of them "ended" without the players taking it to the final screen so it would clear itself out.

I'd do exactly the same thing except for the fact that I'm running a Win98 machine and don't want to use Linux as it's my machine for playing old games that don't work under XP.

It should be possible to do the same thing with a batch file. Or it might take abit of programming (I tend to use basic for that)

Yes, something up with the server.
lateaged makes me wait forever, have to reboot system,
and middle aged just doesn't find the game, but i can at least exit from that situation wihtout rebooting the system.

My computer crashed last night, so I rebooted it and it should be good for a while now.
