I haven't seen any huge provs... im not starving for gold either, however. Sometimes random maps can have a smaller amount of gold than others.

Gold is a luxury for my agarthian people. We scrape by on sea plant food and a free unit here and there  After our fatal first battle where our brave godhood himself allmost got stomped by a raving horde of elephants and annhilated most of the agarthian army we have been forced to out sourcing our millitary muscle (mercenaries) |
