Re: Never ask a lady her age
I'm 24, though still at university as a grad student.
Shovah32, I would never have guessed you were so young. You're very mature and smart for your age (you're one of the forum members whose opinion I tend to trust the most).
I love that there is such a wide age range and range of backgrounds and talents on this forum. It's a great community.

That's, like, 42 reversed. I bet you can beat Lingchih with that.

Re: Never ask a lady her age
I'm 28, and recently split up with my girlfriend with whom I had been living since leaving college. (well, actually, with whom I had been living since I entered college, we were in the same dorm )
My hair is also in danger of disapearing soon, but on the bright side I started to have to shave me at least once every two days recently, so at least I won't look like a hairless baby

We of the Celestial Sphere do not count time as do humans. However, this form I currently occupy has seen 46 of your earth years.

Thanks buddy, that means alot. Did my over-use of emoticons not give it away?
I knew there were plenty of older dominions players here but im suprised at how many we have(and how many appear to have mild depression ). I find this to be one of the more interesting threads here on the forums at the minute - finding out alot of unexpected things.

I'm 30. I can now legitimately use the term "whipper-snapper" when talking about younger people.

Re: Never ask a lady her age
I am older than most, 47, but I am pretty fit. Still hit the gym 4 times a week. An attorney by profession, though my amount of spare time has increased significantly since Katrina.
In all honesty, age is a relative thing. If you keep yourself fit, not much changes from age 18 to 47. Yeah, you lose some hair, some white hairs creep in, and all of those bones you broke playing sports in college etc start to ache.
But if you eat correctly, lift weights for muscle retention, do aerobic exercise, and throw in some yoga to maintain flexibility, you can still be stronger, in better shape, and more flexible than 90 percent of the 18-24 year olds.
Of course that is because 90 percent of 18-24 year olds consume fast food, chips, soft drinks, and spend too much time watching tv, movies, talking on their cell phones, text messaging, as well as computer related activities.
So do not fear getting old, fear getting out of shape.
An excerpt from Jack Lalanne's verified achievements:
# 1974 (age 60): For the second time, Jack swam from Alcatraz Island to Fisherman's Wharf. Again, he was handcuffed, but this time he was also shackled and towed a 1,000-pound boat.
# 1975 (age 61): Repeating his performance 21 years earlier, Jack again swam the entire length of the Golden Gate Bridge, underwater and handcuffed, but this time he was shackled and towed a 1,000-pound boat.
# 1976 (age 62): To commemorate the "Spirit of '76", United States Bicentennial, Jack swam one mile in Long Beach Harbor. He was handcuffed and shackled, and he towed 13 boats (representing the 13 original colonies) containing 76 people.
# 1979 (age 65): Jack towed 65 boats in Lake Ashinoko, near Tokyo, Japan. He was handcuffed and shackled, and the boats were filled with 6,500 pounds of Louisiana Pacific wood pulp.
# 1980 (age 66): Jack towed 10 boats in North Miami, Florida. The boats carried 77 people, and he towed them for over one mile in less than one hour.
# 1984 (age 70): Once again handcuffed and shackled, Jack fought strong winds and currents as he swam 1.5 miles while towing 70 boats with 70 people from the Queen's Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary.

Re: Never ask a lady her age
Yeah, out of shape isn't a lot of fun. Yoga's great, so are swimming and walking, even when you're older, because they're low-impact.
I think I qualify for "mindly depressed" at times, but then exercise, sunlight, and vitamins do wonders for that.
