In that article, Google has explicitely & publically stated that they do not claim ownership of the files stored. That would make it tricky for them to later turn round and try and argue that they do in fact own those files and contents in a court of law.

People keep worrying about google, but fail to realize Yahoo and Microsoft already do this.

Actually, it's more like people worry about Google following Microsoft, AOL, and Yahoo's examples.
