Re: National Items for MA Ulm?

The trick is, how to boost Ulm without breaking the theme. In my opinion the distrust of magic should not make Ulm less resistant to magic, rather it should make them more resistant to magic. (In RL, disbelievers say magic can only hurt you if you believe in it. Believers say that it can only hurt you if you fear it or lust after it. Either way, shunning magic makes you more resistant, not less.) I say bump up the magic resistance of all Ulm troops to the point where you don't think they are weak any more. Problem solved.

In the description of Ulm's nation, they fear magic. That is why they shun it.

Re: National Items for MA Ulm?
Well, perhaps not Ulm national items, but you can have items that help Ulm and are difficult for most other races to forge/use effectively like the lictor thingy and the C'tis death mask. For instance...
Forge hammer & anvil (2H weapon) - 3e 1f increases users power in all paths for the sake of forging. Only usable by units who have a forge bonus.
Arcane absorber - 2e +5 RP, +4 MR, increases drain in province

Re: National Items for MA Ulm?
Unfortunately, neither of those is currently supported by the engine.
There are a *lot* of national spells, however, which you can add which would be supported by the engine.
