Ubercat - What was the message?
If it was a "bad packet" message that means you probably want to download the map seperately and put it in your maps folder.
The first day is always hard on connections as the map download is bandwidth intensive.
I *highly* recommend everyone download the map from the external link rather than through the game:

The final message was
Connection failed
The Dominions server or your connection to the internet might be down. Also make sure you entered the correct ip-address (address) and port number (number)
retry
cancel

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
Give it a little while and try again. I could get in fine when I checked 10 minutes ago.

That's what I've been getting, too. I checked the map, mods, ip, and port#.
Oh, will there also be turn notifications by e-mail?

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
I just tried a couple times. Still no luck. I'll keep trying.

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
DOOM!
For next time:
1) The algorithm to pick which sites are "in the middle" was borked. Not a huge problem, but next megagame I'll do a much better job - balancing start locations which are remote from other players is an issue even on most wrap-around maps.
2) I had meant to fill all four slots in every capital with sites so that searching spells would skip the capitals. Next time, I'll do so.

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
Ok, this is ridiculous. I haven't been able to get in at all today, either. I DL'd that big game mod linked to in the first post probably a week ago. I dumped it's contents into my mod folder, as is. I DL'd the map probably about a week ago. Could either of those be the problem?
I keep getting the same message as last night, which I quoted several posts ago.
