If you are going to use snake bladders then I suggest poison ward and mossbody. You could go with snake rings and Foul vapors. This could make snake bladders a true horror.

Sailors Death and Curse of the desert should be in your reach.

Swarm or tangle vine or slime and hit them with arrows. If you go foul vapor then the arrows might be over kill.

Quagmire should do the trick. Add Vapors and swarm to see if you can grind them down with out battle. The snake rings might be a very good investment even if you don't go with snake bladders. You could have half the enemy taking poison hits before you get to hand to hand.

Sleep cloud. Horrors? Iron Pig? Bottles of living water? Doom? Curse of stones?

Vine shield? It might make them hitable.

With your bless you could crank out Jade armours. Antimagic and reinvig.

I like the idea of quagmire, vapor, swarm, sleep cloud, Curse of the desert, and tangle vines till they just give up and run. Take some commitment but I think you could do it. I just don't think they could run fast enough to get off the field before your troops killed them. Alot of mages but who would come back after getting hit like that a time or two? They might decide peace was a better deal till they came up with a answer.

I like your idea of Breath of the dragon which would vastly add to the whole slow and poison them nature method.

Disclaimer A few N2's casting poison ward would put a wet blanket on this. However it is only 50%. They could be facing 2 or more poisonings from range spells. Then snake bladders and the mossbody if they hit you. Haven't tried it but it sure sounds nasty.

Don't forget your Pretender can also Doom which might afflict any that escape death from poison. He can also Will of fates for Luck on all your troops.

Considering your nation a fairly simple option is to use Boulder throwers, one hit from a boulder and their down, defence won't help you against them!!

Or possibly javelin throwers, but they're likely to be less accurate.

Equip a Niefel Jarl with a vine shield. Van attacks .> he's entangled => his defense drops to 0 => he's dead.
If anything, its niefels who need a counter...
