				 TCP/IP Question
I was trying to play the other day with my buddy via TCP/IP. So I loaded my Space Empires IV and set up the TCP/IP Host on my computer. Then I loaded another instance of Space Empires IV to play as the TCP/IP Player. But I could not connect to the host(myself) and either could my buddy. Does anyone know why neither of us could connect?
If not does anyone know any hosts that are open to play on?

				 Re: TCP/IP Question
Has anyone been able to get a tcp/ip game to work? Just received my copy and am curious if anyone has actually tested out a tcp/ip game on the internet. |

				 Re: TCP/IP Question
You don't need to open another instance to play in the game. Your friend needs to have your IP address. Once he enters it and joins the game, you can select "start" and then each player (including yourself) will be able to create their empires. |

				 Re: TCP/IP Question
I'll help you do a test game right now if you want. I haven't played a TCP game yet. I just read the section on them in the manual. |

				 Re: TCP/IP Question
I was able to connect with another player via tcp/ip recently and play out a few turns. SE4 Gold worked very well although the non-host machine did generate two error Messages about not being able to draw something or other (not quite clear as I was the host); but, the problem was quickly resolved by just restarting the game with the saved game and it went on and just worked fine. |
